What is FCC certification? US FCC certification (USA)
The FCC Conformity Declaration, also known as the FCC Mark or FCC Mark, is a certification mark applicable to electrical/electronic products circulating in the US market. It certifies that a device is causing interference to other devices, and that a device is broadcasting in the appropriate radio frequency range as defined by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations.
The FCC classifies devices into two testing classes:
- Class A: Equipment used in industry, commerce, and engineering.
- Class B: Consumer devices with higher testing requirements.
The FCC label is also found on products sold outside of the United States indicating that they meet the requirements of the US market. This makes the FCC label recognizable around the world.
Which products require FCC certification?
Electrical/electronic products and RF (Radio Frequency) transmitters are all subject to licensing requirements under 47 CFR part 2 prior to being marketed or imported into the United States.
